Praying...

We draw near to pray… and it is often the same thing that happens… the accuser, with his words of doubt… "What are you doing here?"  Enter into a debate, try and come up with the reasons in yourself of why you should or should not be there and he has achieved his goal.  But answer it quickly with the truth and with thanks and we move on…the blood of Jesus, we give thanks for his sacrifice for us - he is our way; our covering; our provision; our reason!

Unless we silence this voice and quickly move on; we will just remain; fighting on the doorstep, quickly conceding that we have no right to be there. But our way in is Christ, it is not in our rightness but his; not in our holiness but his; and he is steady and unchanging and he has made us right; and he has made us holy in Him.

This is a doorway trick of the enemy to eliminate our prayers and our praying before we even get started; and to keep us from the life giving presence that is our joy; and our help; and our reminder of all that he has done; and of who we are in Him. He would have us focus on ourselves and not pray the divine words. He would stop us before we can even say “Our Father”, “Daddy”, “Abba”.  He would stop us before we pray words of power to our Father, “Your kingdom come, your will be done…!”

Don’t play his game!  Let us take our focus quickly off of ourselves and onto Jesus; speaking words of truth and power; that amazingly; wonder of wonders; no mind could ever have perceived it; but he has died for me and has perfectly paid my entrance fee, his blood shed for me has opened up the way into the very presence of the living God.
